SOFIGREEN: A milestone for the Green Transition of Social Enterprises in France

General

Friday 14 February 2025

On February 6-7, 2025, the French cities of Valence and Romans-sur-Isère hosted the SOFIGREEN Cross-Border Event, bringing together over 50 social economy enterprises from Italy, France, and Spain, represented by more than 70 managers. To ensure the success of the activities, the program was supported by 10 expert tutors provided by project partners.

SOFIGREEN, funded by the SMP-COSME European program, is designed to enhance the skills of social enterprises, improve their access to funding, and foster strategic collaborations to accelerate their green transition.

This event marked the culmination of the SOFIGREEN training program, offering participants a unique platform to network, exchange ideas, and establish new partnerships. Through specialized thematic sessions, enterprises explored key topics such as EU project funding, impact assessment, and shared challenges in building a sustainable future.

A highlight of the event was the February 7 visit to the Cité de la Chaussure in Romans-sur-Isère, which showcased a successful example of economic and social regeneration through the revitalization of local craftsmanship.

Next Steps

Enterprises that have successfully completed the SOFIGREEN training program can now access specialized consulting services to accelerate their green transition, with available funding of up to €9,000 per selected enterprise.

Additionally, the project will continue with three more international meetings:

  • Two online sessions
  • A final in-person event in Seville on May 29-30, 2025
